How PEMF technology works
Scientific and clinical investigations into Pulsed ElectroMagnetic Field (PEMF) technology are pillars of Aerotel Ltd. Aerotel has gained experience in basic sciences to better understand the effects of PEMF. The company continues to pursue evidence on the efficacy of PEMF applied to various conditions and pathologies which are today, threatening the health and well-being of the world’s population.
PEMF’s suggested mechanism of action are that they produce electric and magnetic fields which have these effects:
- Globally – They modulate the actions of hormones, antibodies, and neurotransmitters of a variety of cell types demonstrating effects on the endocrine, immune, and neural systems.
- Pain/neural level – They reduce the expression of reactive oxygen species and free radicals; facilitate immune system and cell growth; and reduce pain associated with trauma or injury.
- Muscle level – They increase cell growth and repair following injury, suggesting improved healing, faster recovery, and more rapid return to routine, daily activities.
- Bone effects – They increase bone mineralization and calcification by increasing intracellular calcium content; they also increase collagen production leading to improved healing.
While DCcure is intended solely to relieve acute and chronic muscular pain, PEMF therapy is known to decrease inflammation and have beneficial effects when applied to different clinical indications:
- Bone and cartilage formation
- Joint disorders, osteoarthritis (OA), rheumatoid arthritis (RA)
- Anxiety, depression, and mania
- Musculoskeletal pain and fibromyalgia (FM)

PEMF Technology Explained
DCcure’s inventor
Aerotel’s PEMF products were created after ten years of research and development by the late Zvi Kamil, an Aerotel co- founder. A gifted nuclear physicist, Mr. Kamil helped develop pioneering MRI and CAT scan technologies for Elscint, a company subsequently purchased by General Electric HealthCare.
Mr. Kamil also served as the chairman of Israel’s Nuclear Safety Committee working hand-in- hand with the Atomic Energy Commission to oversee activities at Israel’s nuclear reactors. His decisions had ramifications for the health of millions. He attended the prestigious Technion (Israel Institute of Technology) and later studied nuclear physics in Chicago and at the Sorbonne in Paris.
Aerotel products are built to last to Zvi’s exacting standards. Prof. Mickey Scheinowitz, Aerotel’s chief scientist, today oversees production at Aerotel’s ISO-13485 certified manufacturing facility in Israel to ensure that Zvi’s exacting standards continue to be met.
Aerotel's Pilot Study
Aerotel completed a successful, double-blind clinical pilot study at the University of Bridgeport School of Chiropractic (UBSC) under principal investigator Anthony J. Lisi, D.C. In 2017, Dr. Lisi was named ACA Chiropractor of the Year.
When outcomes were measured post- versus pre-application using the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), considered the gold standard of LBP functional measurement tools, participants using our technology saw a 3 times improvement in ODI scores compared to participants using a sham device.*
Our study was peer reviewed and published in Pain and Therapy (June 2019, Volume 8, Issue 1, Pages 133-140). It was presented at the Association of Chiropractic College’s Research Agenda Conference (AAC/RAC) in March 2019.

If you know anything about professional athletes, you know that it is certain we come alone with pain and soreness most days. Being six feet tall left me with a hurt back almost 100% of the time. I used DCcure for the first time while training for my second title defense. I am always riddled with many sore muscles and injuries from training. DCcure decreased my recovery time and eased my soreness so I could continue training at full capacity.
After three months of traction therapy I was advised to try DCcure. The first thing I noticed was that when I used DCcure I didn't actually FEEL anything. However, I continued to use the devise and started to notice that my back pain was less and less. One more note… the customer service with DCcure is beyond exceptional.
After the first few weeks, I really didn't notice a change. Six weeks in, I noticed a reduction in pain levels and an increase in mobility. After three months of use, the pain levels were drastically reduced, and I could workout at the gym and was able to return to training. I recently traveled from the west coast to Frankfurt Germany and then on to Israel. On my previous trip, my back was extremely tight and sore. This time I sat with DCcure on my back, tucked into my trousers. When I got there, I felt much better than on my previous trip. I got the same beneficial result on the way home, where the route was reversed. Although it is not an outright cure, it sure helps.
Although I could not actually feel it working (and I have no idea how it works), I quickly realized that each time I used it after doing my rehabilitation exercises, I felt less pain and the tightness in my muscles was lessened. Because of the reduced pain, I was able to do my exercises more often which sped up my recovery and made a painful situation much more manageable.
I have found that treating acute injuries/strains with DCcure, I am able to recover more quickly and maintain my performance at a high level throughout the year. There is nothing worse than missing games or meets due to injury. DCcure helps keep me on the field and on the track.
DCcure’s performance characteristics
DCcure is preprogrammed to transmit sets of PEMF intensities at different frequencies. It generates a wide and precise frequency spectrum from 1 Hz to 45,000 Hz which means that it is effective even in short sessions.
The device emits its electromagnetic field which is equally distributed via coils printed on the circuit board of the therapeutic pad. The electromagnetic field is generated by a current from a square wave signal with intensity of 16v p-p which is divided by a 700kΩ resistor. The field intensity is no more than 80 nano Tesla (equal to 0.8 Milli-Gauss).
DCcure is powered by a rechargeable lithium battery. A fully charged battery will deliver four to five 30-minute therapy sessions. When in regular use, we suggest that a user recharge the battery every two days, when “Low battery, please recharge” appears on the digital display or, when the battery charge meter is low.
